There have been several moments recently where, after a series of vague questions, I realize I’m being politely asked if we’ve received a large inheritance or some other financial windfall that is funding our trip around the world.
After a flurry of last minute packing and de-stuffing on Saturday, we started our trip!
We are mad about farmers markets and the Saturday morning market in Skibbereen didn’t disappoint.
Going into this trip, I knew that one of the challenges for me in particular would be the sheer amount of togetherness. In the past, I’ve generally traveled on my own, so continually coordinating outings with others (and especially coordinating with a two-year-old) is a personal challenge.
Theo has spent most of his life in California (much of it during a drought), and it took him awhile to embrace the rain in Ireland. Now, he is perfectly happy to be rained on as he eats a Nutella and banana crepe.
